Dear Nazarene Discipleship International (NDI) Leader,

“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now…” (Philippians 1:3-5, NIV).

Paul’s words to the Philippian believers sum up our prayers for all of you, our partners in the cause of “making Christlike disciples in the nations.” We celebrate every conversation, every act of service, and every prayer offered in the ministry of discipleship. What an awesome privilege to join with Jesus in his work of renewal!

The bookends of Jesus’ earthly ministry undergird our denomination’s insistence that discipleship is a matter of priority. Jesus began his ministry with the invitation to some fishermen saying, “Follow me.” Jesus’ final words upon his ascension back to the Father were, “Go and make disciples of all nations…” If you’re reading this today, chances are that you have a heart for embracing Jesus’ ministry — following him and inviting others along with you on the journey of grace.
